Graham and Ryan

Graham & Ryan

07.29.2016

Graham and Ryan’s wedding ceremony and reception took place in Sebastopol, CA (Sonoma County, CA). Because it was a destination I didn’t get the opportunity to meet them before their big day. But we hit it off right away. I had such an incredible time hanging out with these two and all of their friends and family. Their wedding day actually took place on the anniversary of their first date. I was so excited to be chosen as their photographer. Not only do I LOVE destination weddings, but I happen to be quite fond of Sonoma County and Napa… the wine, the weather, the people… all of it! And my absolute favorite part about this wedding had to be the two white horses that photobombed us in the background of the couple’s portraits! It was so perfect… perfect location… and then CUE THE GORGEOUS WHITE HORSES! Doesn’t get better than this. Congratulations to Graham and Ryan and thank you both SO MUCH for choosing me to be there to document such a perfect day.

From the Couple:

How did you two meet?

“We met playing darts at Buck's Saloon, a local favorite of ours that has since closed. It took some time, but Ryan finally went on a date with Graham  to a Minor League baseball game at Wrigley field.  We then got caught in a downpour and realized it was the real deal.”

Who proposed? What was your proposal like?

“We actually just kind of agreed after the supreme court ruling of 2015.  Ryan wanted to keep the same anniversary (that of our first date) so we decided on July 29th, 2016. “

Why did you choose your venue(s)?

“Free. Just kidding.  Graham's best friend, Paul, and his husband Stacey had recently purchased a farm in Sonoma county and we thought it would be a spectacular venue for our wedding.  Our family friends do enjoy the grape, so we thought it was perfect!“

What are you looking forward to the most about your wedding day?

“Sharing memories and celebrating with our friends and family.”
